Share your thoughts on the future of accessible film and television

We are conducting an anonymous survey to measure the project's impact outside of academia. The results will support our Impact Case Study for the UK's Research Excellence Framework (REF). Everyone is welcome!

After 4.5 years, our Enhancing Audio Description II project is coming to an end. This work builds upon an earlier 2-year project (2015-2017), also funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), with roots going back to 2010 and Mariana’s initial work on an ‘audio film’ format.

Over the years, we have researched how sound design, spatial audio, and first-person narration can be combined to create Enhanced Audio Description (EAD) to provide an innovative alternative to traditional Audio Description.

Now, to wrap up, we are conducting an anonymous survey to measure the project’s impact outside of academia. The results will support our Impact Case Study for the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Who can take part? Everyone is welcome! We are particularly looking for insights from:

  • Professionals working in the creative industries or the third sector.
  • Users of accessibility techniques, as well as their family and friends.
  • Both visually impaired and sighted participants.

The online questionnaire will ask for your thoughts on at least one of our EAD productions:

  • If you’ve already seen one: The survey takes approximately 10 minutes (including time to review the attached Participant Information Sheet).
  • If you haven’t seen one yet: You will need to watch a short production first, which will take between 10 and 30 minutes in total. Hyperlinks are provided at the start of the questionnaire.

If possible, please use headphones to experience the binaural, 3D spatialized audio for the full EAD experience!

Take the survey!

Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,
Kris, on behalf of the EAD team
