Jerry Gilbert

Assistive Technology Specialist

Jerry Gilbert, Born in 1966, lost his sight at 5 years old. Educated at Dorton House School For The Blind he went on to train in engineering and later worked as a bicycle mechanic before studying at the RNIB Vocational College Loughborough where he found an interest in IT. He has been the Assistive Technology Specialist at Cam Sight in Cambridge since 2003. A long time Guide Dog Owner, Jerry has varied interests, including listening to music, playing guitar and drums, reading and of course researching and using gadgets and Information Technology. He has done a little sound editing and created and contributed to several podcast episodes. He runs Waffle FM, an online music and talk radio station.
